Cobweb brooms are wonderful tools for sweeping high corners and tight spaces, on either side of the refrigerator, around the leaves of houseplants, and for touch ups in between vacuuming. 

Variety of lengths, colors, and handle styles. Custom orders and classes available.

Broom handles

Sustainably selected, harvested, and collected in the PNW. These unique handles are cured, cleaned, sometimes sanded & lightly rubbed with walnut oil, then drilled and readied for broom making. Changing selection of hazelnut, plum, curly willow, and other varieties.

Make a Hawk's-Tail Whisk Broom

Learn the basic broom making techniques to make one hawk's tail whisk broom. Class is 1.5 hours and includes your choice of broomcorn and twine color.
Please wear comfortable shoes, not muddy boots or flip flops. 

Class size limited to 7 participants. $35 per person.

Make a Cobweb Broom

Learn the basic broom making techniques of tying on the sweep, plaiting the stalk, and stitching.
Class is 2.5 hours and includes all materials and instruction for making one natural cobweb broom, including a sustainably harvested broom handle and your choice of twine color. Please wear comfortable shoes, not muddy boots or flip flops. Class size limited to 7 participants. $65 per person.

May 1-June 1  Seed as early as possible for your area. Cover with remay or the birds will eat it up. Consider raising starts to transplant. Keep it weeded early on for best results. Requires good fertilization for biggest brush.

Look for the biggest and best brush when the seeds are starting but not fully mature.

A metal curry comb works well.

Thresh Fresh

Broomcorn is easier to thresh, and you will lose fewer bristles if you thresh soon after harvest while the broomcorn is still fresh and green.
